Pin-tuck sculpturen

Pin-tuck is een decoratieve naaitechniek die veel wordt gebruikt in volkskunst en traditionele klederdracht. Het is een helder proces waarbij je de stof vouwt en elke vouw afzonderlijk doorstikt. De plooitjes die zo ontstaan, vormen een gestreept oppervlak dat door verdere bewerkingen in organische vormen kan worden gemodelleerd.

Tijdens deze masterclass leer je hoe je de stof voorbewerkt om deze unieke pin-tuck textuur te creëren, precies zoals in de kunstwerken van Kinga Földi. Je ontdekt hoe je een organisch gevormde sculptuur ontwerpt en hoe je deze vorm bereikt met je voorbewerkte stof. Je werkt met de naaimachine (je eigen machine of een van ons), gecombineerd met handnaaiwerk en een speciale lijmtechniek.

Deze masterclass wordt in het Engels gegeven door Kinga Földi.

Wij verzorgen elke dag een lokale vegetarische lunch (bij mooi weer op ons dakterras) en natuurlijk staat de koffie en thee de hele dag klaar.

Pin-tuck is a decorative sewing method often used in folk art and traditional costume making. This technique involves a straightforward process of folding the fabric and sewing each fold individually. The resulting pleats create a striped surface that can be shaped into organic forms through additional processes. During this masterclass you will learn how to prepare the fabric to create this unique pin-tuck fabric as seen in Kinga Földi's artworks. You will learn how to design an organic shaped sculpture and how to reach this with your prepared fabric. You will use your own sewing machine ( or one of ours in our atelier) together with hand-sewing and a special glue technique.

This masterclass will be given in English by Kinga Földi.

We serve a vegetarian local lunch each day ( with nice weather at our terras outside) and of course we arrange as well coffee and thee during the day.

About Kinga Földi:

This workshop will be facilitated by Kinga Földi, a visual artist and designer based in Hungary, who is specialised in creating sculptures using the pin-tuck method. The pin-tuck stitching technique, initially used for designing blouses, has evolved into the defining element of her creations, forming the intricate scales of her sculptures. Her techniques are deeply influenced by nature, with flora and fauna servingas key inspirations that resonate throughout her
silk sculptures.
