Three days class with half a day planning and preparing on Friday and half a day finishing and a presentation on Sunday in the afternoon.
This workshop is focused on the learning how to make a Nuno felted and when you want shibori dyed seamless garment and when you are a quick worker you can even make more.
Nuno felting is a fabric felting technique developed by Polly Stirling , a fiber artist from New South Wales, Australia around 1992. The name is derived from the Japanese word "nuno" meaning cloth. The technique bonds loose fiber, usually wool , into a sheer fabric such as silk gauze, creating a lightweight felt.
Shibori is a Japanese dyeing technique that typically involves folding , twisting or bunching cloth and binding it, then dyeing.
Participants will create a nuno felted seamless garment (and when they want a shibori dyed or dyed in another way) with the guidance on recognizing a finished felt and correcting any mistakes. The lightweight nuno-felt layout ensures your garment will have a nice drape and fit correctly.
Each student will go home with their own garment and the knowledge to continue exploring Nuno felting. This workshop is for felters of any levels of experience, from beginners to advanced .
As a bonus each participant will be offered a special Personal Color Analysis from the teacher.

Meinie over Valya:
In 2015 hebben we Valya en haar echtgenoot ontmoet tijdens een ETN - congres in Litouwen.
Valya exposeerde daar het immens grote kunstwerk Mama Pacha geïnspireerd op een prachtige oude Indiaanse vrouw. We waren onder de indruk , niet alleen van dit kunstwerk maar ook van Valya die steeds weer verscheen in de meest fraaie zelfgemaakte creaties van nuno- vilt. We hebben contact gehouden en nu ze dit jaar komt exposeren in Oldeberkoop werd het ook mogelijk voor haar om hier te komen lesgeven.

Deze workshop is geschikt voor iedereen omdat er goed lesgegeven wordt en er ook voldoende hulp is voor iedereen.
De workshop is inclusief verf maar exclusief stof en vezels omdat dat een heel persoonlijke keuze is . Die materialen kun je zelf meenemen maar schaf je ze aan bij ons dan krijg je 20 % korting.
Deze workshop is inclusief koffie/thee met wat lekkers en uitgebreide lunch van onze lunchkok Paco.
